Caught this beast in 35m on a paternoster rig. Came up like a big Dhuie, floated up 30m from the boat.

I'll take them over squid any day. We used to get them in craypots--back then, we would cut into strips, tenderize with the meat hammer, do them in egg and breadcrumb. Would probably marinate them now.

but they are excellent Dhuie and big KG bait, and cook up awesome also. Slightly sweeter than squid I think. This one may need tenderising before cooking

Awesome size. Great feed and supply of bait. I find the bigger ones are as nice to eat as the small ones. I just cut thinly as nd a quick fry up in a pan with butter and garlic comes up a treat. Al t ho ranmar850's idea sounds damn tasty
