Creek trolling for barra

Hi guys, heading up to Hedland next week for a creek bash, going to throw a lure out the back inbetween spots. Anyone got any tips for trolling creeks?
Do you hug the creek sides? Rod in the holder like bluewater trolling or hang on to it? How fast? Lure selection?
Got a rough idea, just be interested to know what has worked for other guys up here.
Cheers

We generally worked the hole rathen than the bank, mind you most of the creeks weren't wide enough to be doing anything else than be along the bank. Lures were always in hand, working them with a twitch - generally as slow as the boat could go and the depth of the lure would depend on the holes/structure in them so you didn't snag up but were still in the strike zone.

Yep as Adam said, troll as
Yep as Adam said, troll as slow as possible. With regards to where to troll, mix it up a little until you get results. Try right next to the bank, then somewhere in the middle of the hole, then try bouncing them over the flats. If you notice fish holding up on your sounder concentrate on that area. You can put your rod in the holder, but usually hanging onto it and providing a twitching action yields better results. Lure selection depends on the depth, you want your lure to be as close to the bottom as possible. Generally I've found in our creeks 3m divers work in most scenarios on low tide unless it's an unusually deep hole or shallow flat.
