There's some fine dining coming up with some of the best sea food available, well done.
I hope you don't take offence at the bit of advice that I'm going to offer, when we see photos in fishing magazines showing great captures of fish one thing is glaringly obvious, on most if not all occasions.
The pics are nice blood and guts free, the main reason for this is that if you are putting an image out into the public arena it can inadvertently provide ammunition for the anti fishing/hunting vegans and such other similar minded groups.
A quick wipe over with a wet rag and all the blood is removed and there is no ammunition for the anti meat eaters to use as ammunition against our recreational pursuit and a great quality photo is produced..
Let me be clear, I fish and I used to hunt and I'm damn proud of it. It just an unfortunate part of our current times that some people take great delite in attacking quite vocally anything they don't agree with and not let the facts get in the way of the truth.
I do hope that you don't take offence at my observation as it is not meant to offend you.
You have some great catches there and thank you for sharing them with us.
Not offended by it at all. It's your preferences. My preference is to bleed it for the table. Yeah the greenies here might get offended but God help them when they cut themselves. I do have another pic with out blood but it's a driveway shot and we know how bad that can get. As stated below it was caught on a comp day where weights can be a changer in winning and loosing but it still gets done as we are only taking what we will eat. Dinner over winning all the way.
Been pointed out before ( about me) and i am sure person holding fish wouldn’t take offence. What I am glad off , the fish was bled properly ( in comp).for eating quality . That many people don’t bleed fish , for the sake of 100 to 150 grams. Now that’s a waste . Just my opinion . Unfortunately things bleed , and in the excitement of catching a great fish , you don’t think about polishing it , and editing colours ect. Hunting the same . You don’t wash the the animal prior to photo. If people take offence to blood , i hope they don’t use toilet paper or drink water. It’s a spare of moment picture that’s all.. just my opinion( don’t take offence by all means) That’s why people don’t post pictures anymore . This site youse to have heaps of photos not anymore.
Ahhhhh I think this might be the mackie my neighbour told me about !
I've been putting some hours in lately in trying to troll up a mackie - so my neighbour wanted to rub salt into my wounds by letting me know that someone at the fishing club weighed in a mack from a spot near where he told me I should be trying....
I'd hope that fish would of won you something at the comp ??
The hunt continues ! but good to know they are around !
