Was down at South Mole this evening and I was mucking around catching rock crabs after a lack of nibbles and I caught this robust looking fellow. What type is it ? Looks mud-crab ish to me, but I am told by everyone it's not possible.
Also there were many of these pink coloured crabs on the rocks underwater. Never seen either before. Only got the photos of the one. Released him immediately.

I know what Asian Paddle
I know what Asian Paddle Crabs look like from all the placards at the boat ramp. This thing wasn't as spiky around the face region I don't reckon. Its the best shot I could get of him, he wanted to hide in that bag so I had to get his claws up to get a decent one.

Looks a bit like a red eyed
Looks a bit like a red eyed rock crab my favourite blue bone bait. But I think this ones called a ferocious rock crab as it has black nippers. red eyed have white on there nippers. We get the odd one in exmouth. That big nipper is dynamite on bluebone.
