Been plenty of these little guys around this summer, all 3 caught around trigg area. First one taken on a whole tailor a couple of weeks ago, second on herring last night. Thought it would be something much bigger when the drag went on that tailor bait. Cant seem to get anything bigger this year....

hooked into a beast of a ray last night on a tailor head as well, its the only thing ive hooked around perth thats put a decent bend in that rod. Unfortunately he found a nice rock to bust me off on.
Just waiting for that one metro shark thats gonna justify such heavy surf gear... dont want to resort to buying a kayak and fishing that way but its starting to look like thats the only way to find the big ones....

I ended up getting the ballistic. I hooked a ray on Saturday night that made me piss. An hour later I hadn't gained any line and it was quite happy to sit there and wait so I had to bust it off. My poor big baitrunner will never be the same again, like my back! It was one of those big black rays like 1.5m wide.
Get on to one of them if you want to test your rod out

All 3 were released but i swear if the next one is as small he is goin straight back out as a swim bait for a big tiger or something!
