good day all, went out today to find some squid. stayed up all night and was at the boat ramp at 2:30-3am launched the boat to realize that there was a leak through the bung!!! some handy chewing gum did the trick the patch up the hole, get out and finally start squiding around 3:45-4 caught a little squirt in just a couple cast. thinking its going to be a good day. and hour later landed another, after that 3:30-4 hours go past with no action besides a snorkeler getting an ear full for not having a dive flag up. not been a good day

Just got back from the Sound
Managed 5 nice sized squid at about 9am just drifting weed at Southern Flats while trying sand holes for KGW
I wouldn't worry too much about doing it at night time, i've never had trouble getting squid from there during the day

Dedicated effort Blake , it's been hard work for little reward for us off the bank as well .. now the bans finished we'll start having a squid between crab pulls to get a feed .. given up throwing a line out , butter fish and blowies are too thick for me there. Note to self : put gum in tackle box along side gaffer tape .

Good effort, your catches will improve, keep moving and trying new weed patches.
Before you put a coat of silicon on mate, pull the old bung and the chewing gum, give the area a good clean and check for cracks / damage.
Go buy a new Bung and get it sorted, maybe clean the old swivals and other chunk from the bottom of the hull while your there.
