Had an interesting day out yesterday. Hoped for some dhuies but only managed 2 undersize. Got 3 nice baldies but the interesting part was that I think IU got a spangled Emperor. Picture included. Hope someone can confirm ID. Thanks

Hi Russ
Yep, Metro. Northwest out of Ocean Reef. Bit of a surprise. Nice to see you're back and catching good fish with Sandy. Cheers - Eric

Red Throat
Sea-kem, we have been catching the occasional Red Throat out of Ocean Reef for over 20 years.....they are certainly not uncommon. We even have them as one of our nominated species in our monthly fishing competitions. However, I've never caught a Spangled here....good one Eric!!!

Seen small one when diving
Indeed common over late summer months yet have never hooked on metro. Equally odd, shot a huge John Dory a few years ago in mid summer....it was in water almost 25C so well out of its preferred climes

3 Baldies and a spangled. Doesn't get too much better on the plate than that! Nice work.

Thanks Bradmac73
My 2 daughters and their families love Baldies. Their favourite fish. Family dinner for 12 tonight. Good fish and a few nice glasses of wine - cheers
