Cockburn sound

Finally got my boat out on the water after 2 years of dramas. Fished around the sound not far from woodsman point ramp. Caught stuff all mainly butterfish and nothing of size. Only one little squid. Been fishing with squid for bait, anyone got any tips? I have heard that d9 wreck is the spot but wouldn’t have a clue where it is

Coordinates for D9 S 32°01.145, E 115°32.872 I fished just to the north of it on the sand bank and picked up some nice whiting last week. D9 was fairly quiet.

Not the SS minnow?
I take from saying 2 years to get floating its not a kyak or a 9 foot car topper so this is what I suggest.
I have snorkelled around woodies a fair bit , so Its move along nothing to see here territory as far as I can have seen.
For squid head over closer to garden island east side , theres some areas in 4 metres plus.
Then although squids not a bad bait , splash out out get some occy and mulies , then you ae covered for most things.
On a nice morning , head out past garden island and head south for troll with some lures , vary your depth and see what you can pick up.
At the same time watch your sounder and mark any lumpy bits or fish shows , theres alot along there , and after trolling head back and anchor
so you are laying back on your spot , burley up and send some half mulies down on a floater , whilst putting a small occy leg on the bottom.
I absoluty guarantee you may catch something or possibly nothing , thats fishing , but your knowledge base will increase , and thats what
will give you any future success, cheers.
