Christmas island

Hey im heading to christmas island in a few months with my mate and i want to start getting some ideas of some new setups to take over currently ive got a 14000 saragosa so wanted to get a rod to match that mainly for heavy jigging/popping but if have to sacrifice just one purpose then jigging. Im also getting a stradic 5000 in a couple weeks an want a rod for that for lighter work but do u think a setup like that would handle some of the smaller stuff up there sorry bout all the questions bit of a novice but anyhelp would be appreciated

you won't get a rod that will

you won't get a rod that will effectively do both popping and jigging. If it was just for jigging look at something in the demon blood range by daiwa depending on the line you want to run. As for the 5000 the new daiwa airtourqe rods are really nice and have a very attractive price range which would be worth a look at

 Demon blood range is around

Demon blood range is around $300-329. If you didn't want to spend that much then look at the monster mesh max series

The air tourqes come in at under $200. If you get the chance drop by and check them out

yeh the pe 6-8 mmm sounds good and good price to, anyone used the 6'2 eupro twincraft pe 1.5-3 for for lighter jigs and sp's done some reading on them and it sounds pretty good for what i'd be using it for and a good price also

Ci

The 5000 stradic won't be doing much work in CI.You will be able to use it shorebased in the bay for small Gt's but certainly not jigging, Pe 5 would be a minimum in CI.If your going to get out in a boat i would invest in a heavy casting rod over jigging as most of the really good jigging is limited to the exposed side of the island and you wont be getting over there unless you are lucky.Soft plastics tend to get chewed up by the trigger fish over there it's best just pack metal. If you can get a pe6-8 casting and jigging rod in your budget that should cover you even if you only have the Gosa.
