Cheap jig storage options??

 Hey all

Just a random question- does anyone know of any cheap jig storage options? for either a small or large amount (like around 40-50) of jigs...?

Currently Ive just got them all in an old mid sized lure wrap, but they get chipped/ damaged occaisonally rattling around, mainly when unrolling the wrap etc Im guessing

smaller numbers (and Ill split them up in sizes etc) or bulk storage for all of them- as in cheap ones to buy online or any other DIY/ modification etc ideas would be great

Dont really want to have to buy 3 or 4 $40-60 dollar options that only store 12 or so each. Not fussed on the "fancy" frills etc, just chasing something that works

fleabay isnt really helping much, but I could be missing something

cheers guys

Jig storage

I find dishwasher cutlery baskets useful for storing jigs and there is no shortage of supply during verge collections.

Storage or usage?

Mon, 2017-01-23 20:45

All depends if you're talking about at home or on the go storage. For home an el cheepo metal tea towel rack does wonders, hang em upside down by the hooks . On the go depends how many you want to drag around ( if your like me all favourite toys must be accessable at all times..:) A knife roll setup could be the go . Now if this wind would piss off life would be good! . I'm chafing at the bit to get the boat wet up here....

Plastic Pouches

Mon, 2017-01-23 21:20

I keep mine ready rigged in plastic zip lock pouches like these:

http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/keji-pvc-document-wallet-a5-zip-closure-5-pack-kea5zipdw5

And I keep an assortment of the pouches in a plastic case like these:

http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/j-burrows-stationery-case-a4-clip-closure-purple-jbcarrycpe

Seems to keep them safe & dry while still being quickly accessible, and all at a reasonable cost. Handy for keeping other rigs ready to go along with lures etc, but have found that squid jigs and treble hooks tend to damage the plastic, inline hooks seem to flatten out nicely. Once the plastic gets warm (say a nice sunny day) they almost seem to vacuum seal and form around the lure/jig/rig and don't take up any extra room.

Hope it helps.

Cheers,

Browndog.

I have been using the now I

I have been using the now I think discontinued shimano ocea jig plates these would hold 32 jigs in size from 70-180g slow pitch jigs I have 4 plates and also the actual jig bag which also holds 32. But now days I have fishing heavier 180g plus to about 320g to get to the bottom quicker and stay vertical longer for slow pitch big difference in catch rate since upsizing  so to store these was a bit hard so got a couple off cheap jig wallet a off eBay they're ok but still not perfect and bulky to only hold 20 or so jigs so I have just bought this Plano jig box and as like mentionsed above is sorta like the cutlery holders in dishwashers just more off and sits neatly into a hard case box  haven't received it yet but will arrive in next few days hopefully so will comment back once received

 For that many, perhaps one

For that many, perhaps one of the Plano range. I'm thinking of the one which is tall and can store up to 40 jigs. Seems to be 7915, check it out
