Causeway fishing tonight

Gonna head down to the causeway at point samson tonight for a fish. Low tide at 8.50pm. Gonna chuck some softies around and see if I can get anything decent. Some reports of some good Jacks and even an 80cm barra there recently so I'll have a bait out on some 30lb gear as well.
The weather forecast for tomorrow looks great so we'll probably head out in the boat. Will report tomorrow.

Unfortunately I got all the way to Samson to find my head-lamp wasn't working properly. I fumbled around in the dark for a while before I got a big tangle in my line. Unable to sort it out I picked up the heavier gear for a while. It wasn't long before it snagged up and busted off. I thought I may be able to tye a new hook with the moonlight but after looking through my bag I realised I'd left the hooks at home when I rigged up
With one rod tangled up and the other without a hook I packed up and went home, fishless.. after having spent only 30 minutes fishing. What a bugger.
Oh well, weather looks good for tomorrow and the plan at this stage is to head out to bare rock so I should get a good crack at some jigging and GT popping.
