Carnarvon advice please

Hi everyone, just after some advice on carnarvon, looking at going up from perth for a weekend, was wondering is there any good mangroves to fish? Mostly after jacks, not really looking at ocean fishing, but I have a 10 footer I'm taking up so I can try some mud crabbing too.
is there anywhere that we can camp that isn't a caravan park? Was hoping to find some where up river, but haven't ever been before so any advice will be appreciated!
Cheers

Mud crabs
Muddies have been scarce for a couple of months due to the colder waters
There have been a few jacks caught but not in any great number compared to the time put in trying for them.
Bush Bay about 50km south has some camping sites but if there is going to be a spring tide be prepared to get wet. The Blowholes camp site is usually chockers during school holidays so don't like your chances there. If you can find a spot there be ready for wind, our normal windy season has started with SE 20 knots early morning turning SW 25 in the afternoon.

Creeks
Any of the creeks around town , Oyster creek to the south or up around One Tree Point but as I said before, don't like your chances.
Bush bay is protected sort of from the Se and SW winds to a point, mainly whiting and bream on lines and mullet if you have a net
