Carnac island

On the way back from fishing the ffb drove on the inside of Carnac island the water was crystal clear and on the bottom in about 3 meters of water we spotted a square pipe frame 1 meter x 1 meter and 30 cm high with shade cloth on top and sides but had no bottom there was a few what are they ? It may be sea grass bases. They (not too sure of the dept) are trialling seagrass regrowth in the sound. Hundreds of those things out there and I spoke with a guy working on this project at Woodies recently who said they were having some good success. Install a few hundred of those covering a few hundred sqm and they will still be chasing their tails trying to catch up with the destruction of many times the area by Cockburn Cement. Great work but fighting a losing battle unfortunately.

There were 4 washed up at Woodies point on Friday. Square baskets made from white retic pipe with shade cloth all around.
