Hey everyone
I'm fairly new to fishing and am going down to eagle bay from Perth next week for a few days
I have access to an 8m centre console boat. I'm basically just wondering where around the cape naturaliste region would be best to start to get a handle on catching some just shallow water fish cause I feel out of my depth haha
Also maybe what kind of fish I can expect to find around the duns borough area and the best jigs/baits to catch them if you're willing to hand over some tips :)
Thanks guys
David

Weather is the biggest factor
Dunsborough is great for flexibility with weather but the last 2 weeks have been very ordinary.
Use the search tool as us SW locals post alot of reports and info on here.

Leeward Side Cape Nat
There's a big patch of sand which was the old scallop grounds on Geo. Bay side of Cape Nat. which prawns use for spawning purposes this time of year so many species are attracted to the area which include Pinkies ,KG's , Flathead and anything else that predates on prawns which might give you a hint on what type of bait to use.

be carefull
good luck mate all sorts around, but if you are new to the area or boating in it then watch the swells around the cape mate, they can sneak up people, good little reef system in the middle of eagle bay 17m,
good for an early morn fish or evening, also out further in the 20,s spme good jigging ground for sambos, , or head east into the bay toward s quindalup for some good whiting and squid,

Hey mate Busselton is also
Hey mate Busselton is also very good and it has a good ramp where i've seen boats your size launch and retreive easily. Go out to 4 or 8 mile reef, you can catch numerous reef species, maybe even tuna.
Also, look for sand patches to catch some big king george whiting, flathead etc
Cheers Ben
