can i fish at hilleries or under bridge into perth cbd

i was wondering because it says your not allowed once shops open up.i was also told it is stricktly enforced.

 Is this true.?

As for bridge into cbd. Apparently in wa your not loowed to fish on bridges...where as in tassy you can. I am not sure about laws in wa for fishing under that bridge. One coming from armadale direction ( if there is more than one)

Cheers

 You can fish inside Hillarys

You can fish inside Hillarys just not on the boardwalk or in the area between the shops and the Great Escape. The areas where you can't fish are fairly well signposted so just have a decent look around. You can fish off the rocks on the main walls though

There's the AQWA jetty and also the disabled jetty on the north wall which both have access to water without the need for any rock hopping

Haha it is on the brink of being overfished but if you put in hours (lots of them) then you should be able to eventually start getting decent fish

 Don't know anything about

Sun, 2015-01-04 20:55

Don't know anything about Hillarys but you can't fish from a bridge, be it on top like the Narrows or Causeway or off the walkway like the Windan bidge (the one where the Graham Farmer freeway crosses the river).  Mind you in saying that you can't it means that legally you can't, but I think the chances of the police patrolling the walkway under the Windan Bridge is pretty slim and I know I've seen quite a few people fish off there at night when I've been riding home from work (have seen some monster bream caught by people fishing by the second pylon from the Burswood side). I know,in the past, that people have been told to move on from the Causeway and Narrows.

You can fish underneath them providing you are standing on the ground underneath them or on a platform like they have at Canning Bridge.

I've seen people fishing off the causeway before about 10 years fairly late at night, but as mentioned its illegal here. They were doing quite well for themselves too.

In my younger days (many many years ago) I got moved on from the causeway a few times so it really all depends on just how keen a copper is as they go past. At least with the causeway the wide footpath is on the side heading towards the city, which means they're likely to be driving past on their way in for a feed or to knock off so might not be too interested in someone wetting a line.

If you have mobility problems the bike/footpath runs right beside the river as it goes under the causeway on the Burswood side so it's easy access and no dramas to cast under the bridge to the pylon (have seen plenty of people fishing there, but you just need to be a bit mindful when you're casting as lots of people walk/ride through there.

The Windan bridge has a fair bit of sand between the path and the river on the Burswood side.  On the Perth side there is only a short strip of grass between the path and the river.
