Buying a new rod and reel, Could use some options

Evening Gents,

As the title says, Im looking to buy a new Rod and Reel on friday.

I know VERY LITTLE about a good quality set up and all that junk, I currently use that 8foot 2 piece hunk of crap.
Im getting sick of having to haul around a 2 piece, Because i need to break it down to fit in my car. Dealing with tangled line next time i head out.

All that kind of crap.

I could use some opinions on simple 1 piece, with the capability to fish off Jettie's and estuarys. Everything other then off a boat.

Cheers :3

Patto.

most rods in that catogorie will do the job you want, even the one you got now, depending on your budget aswel, another tip every rod will tangle up if you dont take your rigs off eg just leave a snap swivel on,pack your rigs in a resealable bag this will get less tangles in the future, hope my tips help you out patto.........

you said you need a 2 piece

you said you need a 2 piece to "fit in your car"

if you buy a 1 piece...assuming you want it to fit in your car.... you are looking for a much shorter rod ?

for the non boating fishing you do you may want to rethink this.  a shorter rod will def have it's limits in casting etc.

what sort of budget and what sort of fish are you targeting?

price range

What price range , no use us quoting Saltiga surf's and custom rod builders if you only have $200 to spend.

The 6810 rods are one of the best buy's out on the market, I have the 6810 X 2 and 1 X 6811 , line rating and lure weight covers just about everything and they are light and tough. Match it up to a Daiwa Emblem pro or Emcast or a Satliga surf and you can fish for just about anything that swims along a beach worth catching.

Probably about $200, Maverick.

My 2 piece rod is rather heavy and its a pain in the ass to hold that thing up for hours on end.

Pretty much want a shorter rod for anything other then beach fishing.

Compleat Angler have a pretty crazy sale on at the moment, So im going to head down there and ask a few questions. They have always been helpful and honest. :)

Cheers blokes.

 I've got a Daiwa Tdt that's

I've got a Daiwa Tdt that's a pretty good all rounder. 7ft, 1 piece, 4-8kg. Nice & light but has no problem casting a 54g sinker & mulie, I've landed fish to 12kg on it. Match it up with a Shimano Sedona 4000 or Daiwa Aird 4000 & it should be right around the $200 mark.
