buying from ebay?

Ive been looking on ebay over the last few days and ive been seeing some awsome fishing gear selling fairly cheaply.

Im just wondering how reliable it is, i mean i dont wanna buy something that looks good in a photo then when i get it it turns out to be something completley differant.

have any of you had problems before? or better still how good have the products been?

cheers

Its been covered a few

Its been covered a few times, so try the search.

Basically only buy genuine name-brand stuff, if you haven't heard of it, its probably crap.

Only buy from sellers with good feedback and get postage with tracking so that you're covered if the gear goes missing.

Cheap

Do not touch the braid that comes from Hong Kong or China, it sound like a bargain but doesn't deserve 1/5 of the money you pay for it because its utter garbage.

There are some overheads with many names but the LD 9000 or 10.000 is common and they go for about $50-$70 , they come from the same factory and as soon as you load them up the non return pawl doesn't work and you find yourself with a handle doing 200 kph backwards

yer mate..as till said, stick with the known brands and you cant go wrong.

i have brought some tuff line and it is the genuinen product with a huge saving(well worth it)

i got a couple of cheapy rods, they do the job but i wouldnt want to push them to the limit.,a couple of them have come lose in the rod seats(get what you pay for)

do not touch the dyneema braid..it is absalute rubbish..not worth the $ spent.

one of my favorite rod/reels come from ebay and have had it for years and is still going strong, its a copy of shimano tld, but saying that a mate got the same rod/reel and the reel failed on the first drop in 40mtrs.
