Yeah uncle

They are now an unwelcomed permanant resident in some parts of Cockburn sound. They have an appetite for the expensive squid jigs, and completely obliterate them.

I also caught one out from 2 rocks a few months ago, that would've given 12kgs a nudge no worries. He was safely returned to the water unharmed, and did not have his head beaten into mashed potato.

Note: the last part of the above paragraph is completely untrue.

Caught one on Zman plastic last weekend near Carnac. Hooked on the lip otherwise, it'll snap the hook on the jighead easily

Did anyone see the episode of Thallassa where they cooked a few up and ate them? Look dead set just like a NW Blowy. The guy that ate them was not a local from the village he was in and ate them while everyone else (locals) just chucked them back. The presenter ate some and actually said it was surprisingly nice. No mention of fugu effects either.

This news is sweet on our ears up here, the more you catch them down there means less of the buggers for us to deal with up here.
A mate ran his drop nets out a fortnight back and had them nearly demolished by blowies instead of the usual tigers for a change. He managed to get 3 in one run of the pots before he gave up and moved up a creek to try for a muddy instead.
