Broome landbased

Gday all

Heading up to broome on boxing day for a week.

Staying at eco beach for first few days and then heading back in to town.

Looking for any advice/spots to try out. Creeks, spinning off the beach or anything.

Will have a small 4x4 so I can travel around a bit.

Would love to get in to my first barra and queenie.

Cheers

Dan

The rocks at Entrance point

The rocks at Entrance point and near the jetty for queenies. Head along Crab creek road to the boat launching area or right next to crab creek for salmon and the possibility of a barra. Give the jetty a crack.

broome wow!! a great fishing destination!!! catch anything from queenies on the beach to coral trout on a boat. if u have time to get down to 80 mile beach, there are plenty of GT's and big queenies in hip deep water out there. be careful of wading out to far as there are great numbers of tiger sharks and the odd saltwater crocodile out there! Not hard to find a decent spot up there mate. All the best

Eco Beach

Mon, 2011-12-19 08:42

Hey Dan

You will love Eco Beach. Cast some Halco Twisties to the rocky/reefy areas to the left for Queenies and Trevs. I found a real fast retrieve worked best. I also got a Thready from there that gave me some curry on light gear. Just make sure you take a bit of variety and a lot as I got sharked a few times. Lost my Maria Bullchop Stickbait first cast to a shark, expensive cast that one!

Also go on a day trip to Jacks Creek with a cast net to get some live baby mullet for a crack at some Jacks or Barra.

You could also go on the charter for some reef species. The boat was booked all week when I was there but I hear it's well worth it.

Cant help you with Broome as I didn't fish it but let me know how you go as I am going back next year and will give Broome a go.

Cheers

Be Careful

of the tides Dan,

Was fishing on the rock in front of the boat ramp, walked out to it and climbed on.

3 hours of great fun on queenies and trevally had me forgetting about the tide.

Had to swim back with the rod and lure bag above my head.

If you get the chance go out to Cape leveque or Mission Beach.

Helped catch a Sailfish there.

Paradise!!!!!!!!!!
