broken rod :(
gday all...unfortunate happened to me on friday arvo...put my rod down in the corner of a mates boat against the transom door ..door opens from the rolling off the boat and yup rod drops down the gap on the hinged side of the door and sure enough boat rolls the other way and crushed the effin rod :/.....this rod was I giant king jig rod I purchased from oceanside tackle a few months back and worth about 200 ish roughly wich is a bit of money in my regards.
What I want to no are my options...seeing as the rod didnt break its self its not a waranty job or anything so to save my self some coin is it worth stripping the rod for parts and buying a new blank and using the parts on that or would i be better off saving my small xhange for the next few months and just buying another rod ??
All opinions apreciated

your insurance
I claimed my rod on my home and contents insurance. It comes under 'portables' And will not effect premiums.
My cameras, watches, rods , reels etc are covered. well worth the $$$ in my opinion.

i lost my dive computer while diving on a friends boat, claimed that on my home and contents insurance, but really its hardly worth it for a $200 rod....

Yeah depending on his policy
Yeah depending on his policy your probably looking at minimum excess of $100-$200 anyway.
Buy a new rod, keep the eyes as spares and use the blank as a go-pro/camera arm on the Kayak or for underwater shots. (or maybe use it to push the sharks away) :-)

no excess
no excess.....replacement cost. my rod was worth $150 and it was replaced no questions asked.
It doesn't matter what the value of the item is . That is why we pay for insurance.
