Mono
I use braid for that reason, it floats while bait fishing for bream. This allows me to see if a fish takes the bait.
In the mornings and late afternoon the kayaks will always be out in numbers and a lot of them don't see you fishing from the banks. I avoid those problem areas or fish closer to the shore while they are active.
If you are bait fishing you can use mono main line and it will sink, or there are a few products around to put on your line to make it sink.

Not that I use it or have the issue you've pointed out as most of my fishing is lure fishing, but eging braid is designed to sink so it allows the squid jig to swim better.
So you could try that and it my help with your issue
