I heard on the radio this morning that he was seen doing donuts in the river just prior so can only assume the poor bloke fell in and got propped by his own boat.

Very sad and condolences. I came accross someting very similar while on my boat many years ago on the river.

The yanks were in town and had dropped a motor launch /patrol type boat off a carrier and  had decided to steam up the river. We were in Ascott waters when we had the water police come by and ask us to keep and eye out for a body. The yank boat had capsized a dinghy and one of the two blokes on board couldn't swim. They found his body 4 days later.

Channel 7 reported last night that he had been drinking on a mate's houseboat prior to getting in the dinghy.

His mate reported seeing him go overboard then witnessed a lot of blood in the water, so sounds as though we was hit by the boat  or outboard after falling in.

Condolences to family and friends.

According to yesterday's news, he had a few on his mate's pontoon boat and then went doing donuts in his dinghy. Went in, other people saw blood in the water, but nobody could go in because the boat was still doing donuts.

Just another reason alcohol and boats don t mix. If your sensible 1 or 2 won't hurt but too many people come unstuck after a few too many .
