i usually always have the redio on whilst im fishing in the river, always pretty shallow - doesnt seem to put them off to much. but i also wander sometimes if its a good idea - especially when fishing for bream.
I don't reckon it puts fish off..... Had mine goin all the time in onslow couple weeks back and we caught heaps of good fish...... 14-20 meters..... I remember watching a thing on tele ages ago and they reckon it helps attract large Pelagics while trolling.....
I nearly always have the stereo on when we're anchored up on our snapper spots has never stopped us catching fish.....it could be just co-incidental but have been sitting there very quiet at times with the stereo off and think it's abit quiet and turn the radio on or slip in a CD and a short while later the rods go off maybe the pinkies like the vibes of acadaca pulsing through the water lol
Techno or dance music seems to attract the more juvenile species , however CCR and neil young etc usually brings the larger , more mature fish to the boat IMO ..
put your boat in shallow water and stand under your transducer.
Ive done it on ours, though only in 2 mts, but with it being a 1kw, you can feel the pulse through your feet. if anything was going to put them off, id bet that would be it !
No I'm my experience it doesn't matter. Me and a mate had a mad session yesterday arvo/evening where we boated 15 pinkies in 3 hours with the stereo cranking in only 10 metres. All large fish too, none under 60cm.
Wouldn't blast Acca Dacca out if I was paddling along in a yak - big whites love it!
Would love to stick a mic overboard when some tuna are busting up on baitfish record it and then next time play it through the stereo to attract fish...
Many big game boat skippers believe hull resonance is an important part of success or failure. For what it's worth I used to have a ridiculous stereo (Clarion HU, 2 x 500w amps, twin 1200w subs, 4 sets MB Quart splits) in one of my boats that I played very loud & I still got into plenty of good fish. If that system didn't put the fish off I doubt that the kind of stereo most people have in their tubs will even be noticed.

Just because I smile & nod does not mean I believe the crap coming out of your mouth.
All people have the right to stupidity but some abuse the privilege.
