We fish it, normally launching a descent size boat so heading out from Tworocks boat ramp and heading up approx 30nm at a guess.

Good for sambos and skippy (plus more) and a great spot to jig. The broken ground/lumps on the outer areas of the Key is good for Dhufish/Pinks/Baldys etc

Pick a good day weather wise and make a whole day of it. Take an assortment of pirates, metal jigs & SP if your wanting to mix it up and use artificial.

That fuel amount should be suffice but we would suggest taking at extra 20L for your first trip there then guage the estimated fuel required for the next trip.

The outer areas of the Key are just as productive as other spots out from Tworocks (re bottom fishing) but when the weathers good its a great spot to fish for sambos/skippy/jigging etc and yes productive.

Fished it a few weeks back

Fished it a few weeks back and donated a couple of rigs to the sea gods. The day we were there there was at least 10 boats fishing the area. We beach launched from Ledge. Didn't catch anything neither did a couple of the other boats we spoke to. But as Blake said on a good day I reckon it would go off. Will definately fish it again.

We have caught plenty of decent fish there as well. I find it very hit and miss, one day the fishing will be fantastic, the next dead quiet. Pick your day if going from two rocks, 30 mile run into a SW wind is not very pleasant on the way home. Great dive spot as well if you get the chance.

I've done well at the Key Biscayne on jigs for sambos etc but have been done in many times also........part of the fun fishing wrecks eh!

The Key (pardon the pun) is to fish the outer areas for sambos also

I've done realy well on quality bottom species on the outskirts of the KB but as mentioned it can be hit-n-miss but thats all fishing for ya!!!
