Big school of fish swimming down challenger beach

There is a massive black mass moving in the water down at challenger not sure what fish it is

i did see some fish jumping out of it  and they looked like salmon it was a big school

i didnt catch any of them they then moved a l ittle deeper and headed down the beach towards rockingham rod

Probaly Mullet, Get big schools this time of year and can be frustrating throwing lures and bait at them .

My bet is a school of buffs, this is the time of the year they school up with just the tips of their tails breaking the surface. Once the sea breeze comes in they head to the nearest patch of reef and scatter.

 the boys on the Alcoa jetty have been seeing them in that area all week. Plus a small hump back whale which has been using the pylons as a back scratcher

With ideal water temps and shit loads of bait theres no reason for them to leave. They were going nuts at Palm Beach last weekend about the same distance out as in the pic, the bait ball had no chance
