Best way to clean boat clears

I've heard that windex and detergent can damage clears in the long run. What's the best method to clean them? Cheers

Elbow grease

I found this article recently when I was looking up the same thing.

http://professionalboatcare.com.au/keeping-clears-clear-2

In summary:

  • Mild detergent is OK
  • A vinyle polish/conditioner should be used regularly
  • Chlorine is bad - so vinyl should be wiped dry too (argh!)

We don't always do the above every time, but when we do it makes a big difference.

Been using Mr Sheen for 4

Been using Mr Sheen for 4 years on my current set of clears. they are still like new.

Wash them down to get rid of salt etc, dry off with a chamois and then apply Mr Sheen and polish off with a soft cloth. I use a microfiber cloth available in packs from Bunnings.
