Best position on the boat for jigging?

So when fishing with others who are "BAIT" fishing, where is the best spot on the boat to be jigging from to avoid tangles? Obviously depends on the direction of the drift, but should you be infront or behind the bait fisho's line? Back corner of the boat or forward?

It amazed me when fishing 50ft away up the bow of a charter boat at the Abrolhos I still managed to tangle with the bait fisho 9 people down at the back of the boat!

Any advice?

i suppose it depends on the weights of jig vs sinker

the lighter weight should be down drift so when it ends up a ways behind the boat , it hasn't travelled through other lines getting there

If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Pretty much the opposite of what was happening on Whitey's boat last time, the bait soakers were @ the transom and they were the furtherest away from the boat.

I prefer the transom with appropriate drift, I like to use lighter jigs and will cast in front of it at times. Hunks of lead tend to get down quicker but at the end of the day if it's not your rig your the skipper's bitch where you jig.
