Best mono for penn 30vsw
Submitted by Trevor68 on Thu, 2012-10-11 20:20
G'day
i bought a penn 30 wide and I have teamed it up with a shimano 15-24kg t-curve
i was just wondering what strength line would be better to use on such a combo for fish like marlin, tuna, sailfish and sharks ? I am stuck inbetween the 30lbs and the 50lbs but not sure which one offers best advantage for these fish?
Any help would be great!
thanks

Size 30 = 15Kg mono = ~750-800m
IMO; 15Kg is good for that sort of fish .... may be a bit light for Marlin, especially if running 12" plus Skirts. I'd say 24Kg will be over killing.
Great setup by the way, I'm a big fan of the 30VSWs
