Best chance at marlin? opinions

Gents, I want to plan a trip for a milestone birthday in a few years, I am hoping to achieve a long held dream of actually landing a marlin ( hooked and lost 2 in my life - still hurts), please give me some opinions on the best combination of reliable catch/cost/location/time of year. I know its a while away but I need and want to plan ahead. Appreciate any advice. Cheers.

Really depends on how much you have to spend. Exmouth is the closest. Peak sport fishing is a good choice.

 If it's a milestone birthday

If it's a milestone birthday I would look at making a real trip of it. Maybe look at a montes run with mahi mahi. Tick off the marlin and a few days of everything else as well.

If it is truely just to tick it off then Eddie is definately your best option though.

Peak Sportfishing for sure, like his face book page and follow his catch rates. If I wanted to catch and release a marlin it would be a no brainer.

If your going to do it.... Do it properly. We snagged Eddy Lawler for a day after a week at the Monties.. This man worked his ass off to get us on the fish( raised two blacks and tagged one). Well worth the loot for a day of mayhem. Funny bastard who likes to drive his Contender flat out everywhere whilst eating cinnamon donuts... See if you can't get him to do his Vietnamese hooker impersonation...... Gold me thinks......
