the Aerowaves come in glass,
the Aerowaves come in glass, composite or graphite, I have the composite and cant fault it, casts upto 6oz, not too stiff, but its going to be over the "about hundred dollars".
What sort of line/cast weight did you want Sabre?

Have a look at the penn
Have a look at the penn spinfisher big game surfs, 15-30lb, 3-6oz, come in 9,10 and 11ft and should be around your budget, had the 10ft and it was a great rod for the money.

Hey mate, I usually go glass
Hey mate, I usually go glass for the beacah rods because it can handle the rough treatment better. It really depends on what your fishing for, about 4 wrap for a light rod which should be able to handle whiting to small tailor . Then the 7 or 8 wrap for a med/heavy rod, which can handle bigger Tailor to mulloway an small sharks. Most manufacturers have rods to these specs you just need to do some research on their sites. I reccomend Snyder Glas but they might be a bit expensive , Im sure wilson does a 4144 and 7144 rod. The Glass rods are not as popular these days because of the weight comparison with graphite, but I really like the sturdiness of glass, I have also been informed by a few old salts that the glass can handle the rough conditions at the beach a lot better. I also use Alveys at the beach, which no one else seems to do anymore either.
