Beach / Rocks Reel

Hey all, what do you guys think is a good reel about the 6500 size for beach and rock fishing, under $300. Been looking at the Exceler, what do you guys reckon?

I have a daiwa emcast sport 6000 and it has been great, it's quite a large reel but holds heaps of line. I use mine for rays etc and is perfect for the on and handles rays from 5-50 kilos

You should not buy a reel with a graphite body as they wobble badly under heavy load

Emblem pro 5500 is my favoured casting reel and for the rocks I use the penn spinfishers fairly bulletproof ..but theres quite a few variables pending on what your targeting etc...

Finnor offshore is one to consider, good line capacity- used both on beach and rocks with good results. Not too expensive either.

Penn Spinfisher 650. Proven over the years, good line capacity & tough as nails. Can't beat the $100-$150 price tag either.
