Hi guys need some help, ive had my boat just over a year now and still rely on pulling the anchor up and over the front rail, i need to install a roller or some method to pull said anchor up, saving my poor old back.
problem is i have a nav light right at the front, which would now be in the way! any ideas or has anyone seen anything on the market which would help. many thanks in advance. kenny

it may look a little odd but
it may look a little odd but you could put a raised roller behind the light so it retreives over the top of the light or you can move the light and install two seperate lights further back and mount a bow roller in its place...

anchor yanka
google anchor retreival aids, available in nearly all boat shops, a float with a stainless ring that you put around your rope and simply drive off and it does the hard work for you... attach the chain tothe back of the anchor and cable tie the front higher up the chain using heavy duty ties and if it does get snagged the tie breaks and pulls it out backwards....

I use the retrieval aide, heaps easier than hanging off the bow, and safer when on a solo trip.

If you go the winch route and
If you go the winch route and install an anchor winch just make up a bracket and raise the light so it sits above the roller/anchor or mount it to a bow rail.
