Ol yella the cables from the motor i assume have already been lugged to suit the previous battery, if you have the round post terminals you can buy a new battery lug type terminal that has a large nut on the end for connecting out going cables which should make the change over easy
I think the positive - red terminal is bigger than the negative black terminal, so make sure you have them the right way around - Also, if the terminals are the clamp type and soldered on already, just undo the nut completley and wege the gap wider with a big screwdriver - be gentle and do it slowly because if you spread it too wide it will break off. Then try them for size and put the nut back and tighten up - a bit of marine grease or vaseline over the terminals will stop corrosion too.

changing the end of leads that come out of the motor
try buying the actual part that clamp onto the battery, you just need a spanner
