Battery Advice

Hi Guys took my boat out of mothballs on the weekend and guess what the battery is flat and won't accept a charge, the second battery appears OK, anyone have a deep cycle battery for sale? or can recommend somewhere local to purchase a new one

Cheers

one of the cells is not

one of the cells is not bubbling when on charge and the other 5 are so looks like a suffed cell, the battery is a Sea Master 650 cca and is 7 years old so had a good run, the secomd battery is the same vintage so suspect it's on the way out and may have to look at buying two,

I've checked Delkor and the they look good

 I find Supercharge

Sun, 2011-12-04 19:52

I find Supercharge Allrounder batteries good. They are a combination battery, which gives you cranking amps and deep cycle ability. I have used them in both my landcruiser and boats for years and been good for running engel etc.. for days on end. They have about 750 cranking amps and 105amp hous of deep cycle power. Cheapest youll find them is All Boats Wangarra for $220.

Heard that on the radio today (about Hayway).  Are they just moving you reckon cause of the Great Eastern Highway upgrade or are they shutting shop for good?

The other issue is disposing

The other issue is disposing of the lead-rich acid, it would be pretty nasty.

yes i was reading about that today, not much you can do with it safely, so i may just stick to the tyre shop down the road for the used balancing weights...
