Baitcaster advice

Hi Guys
I have been looking at getting a baitcaster for a while now. As this is my first baitcaster l am looking for some advice on what baitcaster and rod l should be looking at.
I am willing to pay up to $150. l'm for looking a rod with a 4 to 10kg weight rating most of the baitcasters l have been looking at are mainly designed for casting lures l want something l can use for bait and lures it would mainly be getting used on herring, Trout, tailor, small mulloway and salmon. I have seen the combos at bcf are they any good for what l would be targeting.
Thanks in advance for the advice

A baitcatser isnt probably
A baitcatser isnt probably the best thing for the species you are chasing Ethan, they are perfect for Barra fishing and the tropicscastinglures and live baiting but I would stick to spinning gear for the species you are targeting. the disadvantage of baitcasters is the weight they can cast and the benefit of a baitcaster is its casting accuracy in snaggy waters etc, so its not really relevant to the species you mentioned. Its not that it cant be done, Ive used then all my life but find spinning reels are better for casting long distances and will cast a light lure or bait better.

Totally agree there. Baitcasters can put a reasonably big lure between two branches in snaggy country but would have trouble getting a small lure or unweighted bait out to any distance.
Sometimes when the water is quiet, you can hear the fish laughing at you !

hey mate
for what you want to do i would suggest a spin out fit
but i can see where u r coming from with wanting to use a baitcaster, i am a big baitcaster fan :)
for that price i would suggest having a look at the shimano caenan
hope this helps
