Augusta

Hi, my wife and I are heading to Augusta for a few days after Anzac Day camping at Flinders Bay Caravan park. Gonna sneak a couple fishing rods in. Tried searching the forum but not much info on Augusta on here. Can anyone recommend a couple easy to access spots and tips? My wife is 7mths pregnant and will be most likely coming along so somewhere easy to fish, and nice will be great. Looking for some tasty whiting, herring etc. What rigs and bait to use down that way? Got a landcruiser and plan on driving around sighseeing etc
Cheers,
Adrian

the jetty in the river in
the jetty in the river in town im sure is a good spot, only went there once but still caught a salmon trout and a very decent skippy, really anywhere in the river is good for esturine species, just use a simple patanoster rig with squid or coral prawns as bait

Lighthouse
Head around towards the lighthouse, there are plenty of spots that are just off the road and in easy walking distance. The disabled ramp/ jetty at Dead Finish is another, its good for herring ,whiting and a chance of a salmon
