Port kennedy, near where they doing the new pier. its about 10 mins from rockingham :)

Is that Bercher point.. basically the furthest point going out east at the bottom of the wanbro sound.. or is it fishing into the 16m drop off just in front of where the carpark used to be.?.

its right next to port kennedy golf course, u go all the way to the bottom till u cant go no further, the bottom car parks closed off coz they building new peir, i think my mates just bailed on me, not sure yet so might not be able to get there myself, he was my lift there lol :/ sucks! ill let ya know though if i can get a ride there :)

Whats the go about this new pier ?

How long will it be and can the public fish off it ?

i havnt got a clue, i think they started it like 5 weeks ago or so... they have the end bit nearly finished, but they havnt finished the start bit :/ im thinking its mainly for fishing, as there is no jetty there.....

Its not part of a new boat ramp is it ?

Yes its Becher point Bungel,,locals call it Long Point mainly,,

ive only been in aus for like 4 months... so havnt heard anything about what they doing, i dont see any footing there though for a boat ramp, could be wrong though, would be a great place to launch ya boat off though :D

ive been there about 5 times now, and it seems to be prety good, had a fair few banjos off there, and shovel nose, and like i said 2 snapped on heavy line, so activity is good, if you willing to sit around for a few hours. :)

By the way starting the end of the peir/ramp sounds weird,,

Yer its a new boat ramp. Looks like the pier goes all the way out to the deep water. Its gonna be really good. Me and a mate went down there and sussed it out a few weeks ago.

i cant make it tonight.. head is pounding. hate this damn flu!

Tomorrow i will be able to make it there right after work for about 6:30pm.

If we can suss out a plan tonight i will definatly be on for tomorrow, will have a spare spot in the car too heading from welshpool if needed.

Its about time that they started the ramp,,should be handy for boaties and others and will be a prime fishing spot .

It will be another destination for keen anglers to pen in there schedule,i wonder if its single or double lanes ?

yeah they started the end of the ramp first, i think for safety reasons so poeple cant go on it untill its finished :/

in a way im not looking forward to it beeing built, as i got a feeling its going to be over fished! i think the new pier is gonna be totaly mowed out :/ so gonna be a little frustrating if it shy's off the sharks and mulaway etc.

yeah ive planned for a fish 2moz insted coz my mate cant make it, so we will be down there from about 6PM ish :)

hopefully there wont be too much wind, last 2 times ive been its been a bit windy so difficult to hit the sand bar on cast.

shame the winds picked up, after u left the beach started filling with sea weed! so put a downer on it, i pulled in a port jackson though and a eagle ray and banjo's

least u was lucky enough to see me spooled on 50lb braid! haha gutted

went down to long point last night had the big rods out didnt get nuthing not a bite tryed to catch whiting but didnt get any ether they are masiv whiting to oh well just wasnt my night next time lol

will be keen to get down there again, just need to fix the bait runner and reload it something decent. or bring out the sl50. Hate birdsnests at night though.

good to hear you lads got a few more fish after i left. definatly a bit of potential there.

fisherman1992, give me a shout when ya next down there, sorry to hear it wasnt a good fish for u! ive been out onite and port kenedy, not even a bite!! didnt even get a bite on the small crappy rod and thats saying something, had 2 big roads out there and nothing :( very dissapointing!

yeah longpoint def has potential. we had a fiar few bites between us on the big hear, but the lads about 100 yard away had nothing, lol. its amazing what burleying up can do! haha

Bungel - i didnt even know ya had a birds nest lol u should have give me a shout, would have helped ya sort it! didnt u get a few runs but missed em coz ya reel was playing up? shame :/ yeah, next time u come bring a spair reel with some  decent line on it :D helps for a quik change over incase something goes wrong.

diehard - i had around 300 yard on 50lb braid on with about 12 foot of 80lb mono leader. lol took the lot! damn thing wasnt stopping for nothing, and the reel was getting fairly hot with the amount of drag on the clutch! lol

shame my mate didnt have it on his line, i think he has around 700 yard on his real! lol, so might have stood a chance!
