Anyone else doing the 2012 share market game?

Decided to have a crack at this again this year, made nearly 2500 grand for the week. Nice if it was real money.
Cheers

What shares
What shares were you in Dale? I've been doing a monthly comp, seems things have been picking up a bit lately.

I've got a few different
I've got a few different contractor companies doing well for me like Worley Parsons, Monadelphous, Downer EDI and the like as they are all getting some good contracts at the moment. A couple of oil companies like Oil Search, Santos and Karoon Gas which is an old favourite also.
Cheers

Jameson Resources
Jameson Resources (JAL) got a mention a few months ago in another thread that was talking about share trading/investing.
I've been in and out of this one a couple of times for a nice profit...twice...got stopped out the other day after it retraced from it's recent high of 43c....fell back to 38c and now it's trying to consolidate around 40c. For me to get back in, it has to trade above the most recent high (43c), which will show that it's uptrend has been validated; or if it finds support at current prices, it could offer a chance to get back in, but with a tight stop loss point.

small speccies
Good call Hekser, Bru definitely another dollar in it. Whno looks good too and I reckon Pen has run a little hard of late.
Yeh I called Jal Rusty, except I didn't buy when they moved from 4c to 6c because I thought they were a bit expensive (50% gain) and I don't like to chase prices. Ahh well, missed out on a near 10 bagger coz of that. :(
Sitting on WGO (3.5mil sophisticated investor credit raise today, 6 weeks to potentially announcing maiden resource of estimated 2 billion tonne 68% iron ore - africa ore) NMR (currently in trading halt - africa coal), ROB (mongolia coal), EGO (WA gas), PSF (coal), LIN (Indo mixed bag - copper mainly), SSN (oil) to name a few, all smallish speccy plays.

Interesting picks
Some interesting choices there ? One that i have been watching lin may have some legs in it. Back off recent highs could still have some movement north if next drill results can confirm similar anomalies across more than one hole.

Staying away from speccies at the moment, only blue chip for me.
Not holding onto the shares long enough for divi's, trading them almost every week at the moment.

So sick of our
shares in our super going up and down, made $6,000 then lost $5,000, so we pulled al our super out and put it in a Term deposit, if its going down, it will be me spending it not losing it on the share market. All our investments were low to moderate lost to much on the GFC. We're in our early sixties wasn't taking a chance on losing anymore money. Need that back up money for when we get older or need to go into a private nursing home. At our age we just can't afford to lose or take risks on our super, as we can't generate income to top it up.
You younger ones are lucky if you lose you have the time to increase your shares or super.

you can buy and sell online,
you can buy and sell online, you dont need a broker.stockness monster is a good website to use to track your holdings or ones you are interested in. do plenty of research on each company and if you can beat the returns from the banks you are winning.however it is a gamble so only invest what you can afford to lose.my rule of investing is do people have to have it. ie an item that the particular company sells, creates or finds. there is a clue for you!

I've registered with the ASX site
to be part of the next game, not sure when that will be. Only found out about the game a couple of days ago. I'm keen to learn as much as I can about it all. Apparently they do short courses at the ASX, might get myself on one or two of them.
