Any spots for bottom fish out from Hillarys?

Hi all
I have just bought a boat capable of getting out onto Direction Bank (on a good day), but I haven't fished there very much at all (the old 4.2 m tinnie was just a tad too small!). Does anyone have any tips on spots where I might find some bottom dwellers, dhuies, cod, snapper etc etc, or even whiting closer in?. Very happy to receive GPS spots via private email if you don't want to publish them, or just general directions, distances and water depths and I'll try to find them myself. I am in Aveley, so the closest boat ramps are probably Hillarys or Ocean Reef.
Cheers
Randall

Nobody is going to hand you
Nobody is going to hand you there gps marks .none worth having that is .you need a good sounder and you need to know how to read it and then its putting in the hours. there is miles of ground out on direction bank .or even 60-80m just use your sounder and find the coral and you will find fish good luck

Thanks guys
Surprisingly, I had a complete stranger give some spots off Monkey Mia when I stopped overnight at the Dongara Caravan Park on the way there. We've caught some great fish there over the years, but I am always on the lookout for more, so we don't just keep going back to the same spots year after year.

I'm in the same situation
I'm in the same situation myself having only bought a boat in the last 12 months.
Around the 3 mile reef is a fairly productive spot, and close to home as well.
Following this line of reef that runs from south of scarborough north, through 3 mile, and beyond can produce some good ground.
Beyond that I just a lost as you! :) I hope you find some some spots.
Come some finer weather I'l be out there searching as well.

Paul G is right, reading your sounder is probably the most important part. There is heaps of ground out at direction bank.
Ive been up fishing that way quite a few times, and from the very first time managed to get into dhuies, bladies etc. I think ive only re-visited one or 2 spots up there for a second time, always finding new ground. Understanding what you see on the bottom is the key. Fish dont always live on big lumps, sometimes the smallest lump can hold good fish, especially at Direction bank.
A good tip, dont be afraid to fish ontop of Direction bank rather than just the edges.
