Any one keen to join in on a Montebello's trip?

Wer going to leave perth Sunday the 23rd to fortescue river wait for the tide as you need about 2.5m to launch! Have 3-4 nights at the monties then be home for the weekend. Obviously weather pending!
Any one going to be over there or want to bring a boat along? Iv done about 10 trips from Karratha when I was living there in my old 28' regent but taking my 7.1 jackman this time. Iv got heaps of marks (not that you need them) and know a few good spots to camp!
A mate of mine launched a 8m leisure cat at fortescue a few months ago so no problems there and it's about a 45nm run to where we camp. 5-10 and your in red heaven ;)

K town is about 120 ks away in case you haven't noticed you need to get your north west geography right mate before you head to the montys

Thanks for that petermac!
Thanks for that petermac! But.. If you read the post you would see that I'm launching from the fortescue river! South of Karratha ( where I lived for 4 years) as its only a 45nm run to where i usualy camp at the monties. As apose to driving a extra 120ish kms then around 76nm by boat by the time you get out of nw pasage! So i think it might pay to do a little home work before questioning sum ones geographical knowledge...
Guess your anti shark cull to?

having lived in K town for 30 years I definetly know where fortescue river is , perhaps you should re read my post I never mentioned any thing about north west passage , what said and I don't under stand is how you can say the nearest town is 250km away from the fortescue river , I can actually think of 6 towns with in 250ks of the fortescue , Onslow , Dampier , Karratha, Robourne,Exmouth, Parabadoo

Iv got 2x 180l in hull
Iv got 2x 180l in hull tanks. 1 tank will get me there and back easy! Il also take 150l in Jerry cans. Once your there trolling between spots or just crusing between spots looking for new ground saves a fair bit. I still make sure Iv got a full tank for the trip home just in case the weather picks up or sumthing goes wrong

Work and lack of crew has me stumped so I wont make this trip. Sign me up for another trip. Been busy working out where to stuff all the jerry cans I'll need, but there is room, so can get organised for next time....

So keen mate, wish I could get back to Aus for it! No chance unfortunately
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

G'day mate, thought it might
G'day mate, thought it might have been you! Spewing about the dates as I'm going to be in South Africa then. Would have been good to catch up for a beer or 20! Good luck and try to stay away from the late night storms - had a few this year that have been horrendous!
