Another boat coming to grief near Carnarvon way back in the 80s

This time it was the EWS, an old lugger that was about 100 years old that ran aground south of the Quobba Blowholes beach one morning.
We were having breakfast before going out mackie fishing and saw a flare in the sky south of Black Rock.
She didn't look so good after a couple of bad days of weather unfortunately!

There has been quite a few boats come to grief in the area.
Half way down the west side of Dorre island is the gear box and shaft of what I think was the wetliner Evening Star, there is the Lady Joyous wreck that went down and was towed to sit along side another boat that had gone down some time before to form the fishing spot with some tyre reefs added later.
More recently is a yacht that went down just south of Cuvier about 4 years back and the fish trawler , Notunda 2 that ran aground 3 years back again just south of Cuvier

Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.

I'm sure, used to Mackeral fish along side of us on the Quobba coastline and further north.
Pretty sure it was skippered by a young fella from down south.
