dont take your car their at night! Almost guaranteed of a break in
also, take some personal protection device, as there is always idiots wanting to cause some sort of havoc at night. It's a shame really, could be one of the best land based spots Perth has to offer, if it wasn't for the Di€khe@ds that hang around there at night.
Yeah Ill be probably getting dropped off there to avoid car breakins but with personal protection device do you mean a knife? And what are the D***Heads Doing To cause havoc?
From my experience there, you won't catch anything. I have been there a couple of times, I was there a week ish ago for 5 hours when the salmon were running, the jetty was full and 3 people caught fish in the time I was there, 2 salmon and 1 blowie; and it is full of "Professional" hobby fisherman who are insufferable I find. I've found that Coogee Beach jetty, a km or so down, is far better. Just cast as far out into the sea from there as you can and you'll catch more fish in an hour than a whole day on the ammo jetty. Same thrill of not knowing whether or not your car will be there when you return either.
I fished the ammo jetty every night for a few months a couple years ago when I was looking for a job and living in the area.
I parked my car there every night and never had any issues, and I was fishing 10pm til sunrise most nights to avoid the crowds (although still crowded on weekends at this time).
Yes lots of dickheads but I never had any dramas, and was 2 car break ins while I was there.
I had a few good catches there mainly sharks, tigers, bronzies, hammers and shitloads of blacktips and a few unstoppables, couple gummys.
Seen a couple monster mulloway caught there, 27kg Spanish mack caught in middle of night, and few other macks, few snapper aswell.
Good spot on the right night but don't go when it's busy...

Lock your car, I couldn’t fish there, I’d be worry about my car being stolen or stuff being smashed and pinched.

Not suggesting caring a knife at all
never be armed with something unless you are willing to use it, otherwise it could be your own undoing.
maybe just something like a Mag flashlight. It's enough of a deterrent, without provoking others.

Besides
being in possession of a knife (with the exception of a bait knife) would be illegal.
