Abrasive resistant line

Hi all, not much of a poster however I read a lot on here,

I have a question if some one can give me advice ?

I work with a bloke that uses gillmaster mono, for land base up north, and highly recommends it for its abrasive resistance on rocks etc, I tried to find where to get it and apparently the joint in mandurah has gone bust and closed down, so my question is does anyone know any good reef resistant mono and where I mite get some ????

Mate the difference between top end lines is not much imo , do u use a leader .... that's the bit that takes a pounding , the area and species u fish for will determine the size leader u need.

I use Berkley Trilene XT around the reefs etc down here. Very abasion resistant but still supple enough to cast well if you want to fill your whole spool with it.

 Cheers for that,

I usually use 30lb platypus and about a 40>60lb leader, around waygo, when it gets a bit rough and you need to stand back I often cut off on all the oysters and reef etc, I wanted something a little more resistant to damage, how ever I realize I can't drags line over rocks and not damage it , was thinking of spooling up with a 40lb, and 60>80lb leader of about 5ft ?

Sounds ok if those line classes are suited to your target fish. If wary fish are an issue & you only want a leader material then I'd choose Black Magic Tough Fluorocarbon. I've used it from time to time when targeting Mulloway around reefs & have been happy with it's performance. Increasing the leader length a bit more could help with wary fish & abrasion damage to. You know your target species & the area your fishing though so it's best to adapt your breaking strain & leader length to those conditions.
