abalone shell
after thinking about it alot i thought id bight the bullet and buy some ab shell for the squid jigs so down to ocean side i went spoke to ryan a few jigs later and some ab shell and i was away.
hit the river this avo with nelly both armed with the same jig mine with ab and his without so fair is fair and the trial began . first cast nailed a nice one followed by a hook up on the second squid landed on the third 3 casts and 3 squid hooked not bad i thought . an hour later and the results were ab shell 4 no ab 2 not to obviouse stand out but the ab shell had bite marks out of it and hit marks were all around it with no other hit marks any were else on the jig so i beleive a sucsess .
i certainly wont be leaving it off my jigs in the future

there a little dimond shape
there a little dimond shape shingy sticker that u stick on ur jig near the hookss.
it give the squid a point to target and it should lead to better hook ups.

its a abalone shell/oyster
its a abalone shell/oyster shell look. Its diamond shape and you stick it to the rear curve on the top side of the jig. It comes in pearl, natural and a few others. Its made to be placed in that certain area so that when the jig is on the drop, the sticker is facing up to maximize refraction and reflectiveness. As its on a curve the reflection bounces litterally everywhere as to increase the visability in the water. I use them on 90% of my jigs. Some jigs actually come with the sticker in the box. If the water clarity is bad, you can count on the ab shell to pickup the slack and get the job done.

The sticker is made of "real" abalone shell. Thinned out and stuck to a sticky surface to create a sticker.
This abalone shell sticker is placed on the squid jig to help improve the catch rate, without you dropping the squid due to it not hooked.
Its placed on the jig as shown....
The idea is to entice the squid to attack that area close to the barbs. They think its a soft spot, that's missing a shell or scale. Obviously easier to chew on a soft spot than a hard one.
Give it a try and you'll be as surprised as Brenz and Nelly.
