8 'Rod to match Stradic 5000

Wonder if anyone can help me find a rod to match the Stradic 5000 I got a while back spooled with 30lb Sunline.
I’m land based at the moment and would like a rod that can flick lures up to 40g targeting taylor and salmon. My Dad has a 9’ Starlo Classix which I don’t mind but I think a little bit long for sustained use. I picked an 8’ Team Diawa rod the other day and quite like the feel and lightness – however it was only rated to 25g which seemed a bit light. Also looked at an 8’ Penn Prevail but the butt section seemed a bit long and I didn’t like the bare heat-shrink in place of a cork or eva grip. Any suggestions? Budget is around $150, absolute max $200.

Hi Mate, Have a look at the new Rovex Big Boss range, they have a 8ft 4-6kg 20-40gm, a 8ft
6-8kg 20-50gm and a 9ft 20-50gm, all have fuji K guides and look really good, I know Bluewater tackle and getaway outdoors have them in stock and come in within your budget.

Hey mate I know your keen on
Hey mate
I know your keen on an 8fter , but a 9fter would be an ideal size for casting poppers, stick baits for salmon and tailor . We have the FWA EXTREME series 9ft2 6-10kg which is perfect for what you are wanting out a rod with a cast weight varying from 30-70g, the 9fter will also make it very easy to get more distant on your cast. With our Up to 20% of sale you would get a great deal which would be within your budget. Feel free to flick us a pm .

Tairyo rods
Tairyo Nano Speed Power, 8ft rated 6-8kg would fit the bill nicely.
I did then the best that I knew how. When I knew better, I did better.

FWA 9 footer is an awesome
FWA 9 footer is an awesome rod mate I had mine almost 2 years and it's never skipped a beat! I snapped my tip off in my car door do it's about 8ft 3 nowaday and I like it even more it's family stiff but casts like an absolute dream and when you hook up it still has enough flex and a whole heap of back bone to stop most things. And its not that expensive either! I also have a team daiwa 9tooter that came in a combo with an aird I tried my Stradic in it but it's a real light Flexi rod but it launched lures upto 45g out no worries

I use a Samaki Zing 9ft, rated upto 12-25lb and can cast upto 2oz, got a 4000 Shimano Symetre on it at the moment but going to a 5000 stradic soon. Casts lighter lures really well but can still launch a 45gram metal

Thanks
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I'll make an effort to track those rods down and see how they feel in the hand. I might even go for two set-ups: a lighter 7 foot rod around 10-20g and a heavier 9 foot, 20-50g. All money, but l I heard on the radio today that flathead is selling at up to $60 kilo for good friday so that puts it into some prespective I guess. :)

That's not bad, Sealanes had crays for $99.90kg yesterday. Dead set scam.

I got a 9'4" Mexican raider the other day to match with a Stradic 4000. I can cast anything from 20g up to 50g. Can cast all day no problems. It's a 4 piece travel rod and lives behind the seat of the car

I think 30lb may also be a little heavy to cast lures effectively
