Is that locally caught? I know the big ones come from Africa's direction and pretty much head east,well south of Cape Leeuwin, but I could also imagine a few strays veering left and coming through metro waters as well.
I don't spend enough time in Freo to recognize the harbour or not!
Na, not a local fish, probably out of Portland in Victoria. I put it up and one other while commiserating about the local runts in another thread! Mark Richter sent them both too me awhile back.
he has a charter boat in Portland Vic if I remember correctly and features in the Portland/Richter DVD with a 100kg fish.
Apparently it is like a car parkout there in good weather but I reckon I could put up with that for a fish that size.

Not SBT but some big fish being caught of the west coast of the South Island of NZ at the present time too. This lasts for about 2 months.
