No not hard to make, my other half got the moulds off ebay, and just as long as you can get some lead then your set, hardest part is getting some decent hooks from a good tackle shop and then filing them off to look neat, which is what we are doing at the moment...

Damn side cheaper then buying them at a tackle shop

For the big ones, I can't help but think you're not better off doing it elevator-style and just rigging a 2-4oz ball/bean, you get a much better action on the SP.

Make my own as well using a 'DO-IT' Shad head jig mould. The one I have makes 1 oz, 1 1/2 oz and 2 0z. The mould usually tells you the correct hook to use, in my case it's Eagle Claw 635 Jig hooks in 5/0, 6/0 and 7/0 sizes. I got my hooks from Janns Netcraft, http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/jig-hooks/?REF=GO09FH1&gclid=CMGu5_fDmpoCFRA9egodRFjX9Q
Very cheap.

I also use the lead melting pot, makes it so easy!
