yesterdays fishing

Did a very tough day on the water yesterday. I know better than work but none the less still tough. What are peoples thoughts on moon phases? It was a new moon but a good bite time between noon & 2pm which did pull us 8 dhu's but all u/size bar a couple just over & a monster by yours truly which spat hooks half way up! A few choice words & that was pretty much it for the whole day. Went out to direction bank & in the 30's but just couldn't get them on the chew. Got both snells cut by the beloved NW blowies which was the final whistle. Very stange day with not much on the sounder.
Would be interested on anyone else who was out.

Hi slam
Hit Hillarys ramp around 5:30 yesterday arvo and shot out to my favourite after dark spot out from Trigg. Plenty of fish on the sounder. Lots of burley and patience... but nothing ever happened. My catch for the evening (embarrassingly) was a little cod that came up with a large cuttlefish wrapped around it. First time I've come home empty handed after fishing that spot. Wondered whether the new moon caused the fish to shut down.

Too much moon?
Yeah , looked the goods on solunar , bite time ( moon up) between 12-2 , only thing I can see that may have effected it was
a tide drop from 0.9 down to 0.4 during the afternoon , quite a big drop for metro waters.
Thats why solunar is so bloody enigmatic ( never thought I would use that on fishwrecked!) cause one day its
spot on , 2 days later , it seems out and wrong.
One day we can ask the fish maybe, the following is a research project is on fish thought process.
The footage and analysis were made possible with a very sensitive fluorescent probe that detects the activity of neurons. Kawakami and colleagues also devised a genetic method for inserting the probe right into the neurons of interest. The two-part approach allowed the researchers to detect neuronal activity at single-cell resolution in the zebrafish brain.
In this case, the zebrafish was pondering how to capture and eat a swimming paramecium.
While that’s not what we would consider to be a deep thought, the basic process of analysis could be used to study any number of complex behaviors, from perception to movement to decision making. The zebrafish brain has a fair amount in common with the human brain, so the methods in future could help us, according to the researchers.
Kawakami said, “In the future, we can interpret an animal’s behavior, including learning and memory, fear, joy, or anger, based on the activity of particular combinations of neurons. This has the potential to shorten the long processes for the development of new psychiatric medications,” he said.
