Hey guys, how are we.
Been fishing for bream and flatty the last couple of weeks with not a lot of success at all. Was fishing along the esplanade street, between canning and mt Henry bridge, and been trying for flattys around the flats at gilbet Fraser reserve,( I am landbased only) are these spots ok in winter or am I wasting my time, could someone please give me some pointers for river fishing in winter as I've only been river fishing for a couple of weeks, it's all new to me, I've sort of worked out summer is better for the river, but there has got to be something to do in the river in winter time too, anything would be great, thanks rails8291

I've never found winter to be
I've never found winter to be too productive, especially after a heap of rain.
Downstream might be more productive where the salt content is higher but someone might correct me there, I'm not quite sure.

winter
I find in winter that there are basically no flatties (or very few) they all head out of the river. the rain pushes the bream down river and the bigger models come out to play :) also some big skippy come in.
