hi, any tips on catching whiting from the beaches at quinns rocks? can you catch them close to shore, and does it need to be calm? looks choppy out there driving past most afternoons. is morning the best time? appreciate any help

youll be right almost any
youll be right almost any time of the day for whiting they always seem to be on the bite.
suggest you go either in the morning or arvo for better results tho... likely to have other bycatches at these times also.... herring, flathead etc.
i find ox heart works pretty well down there with size 6 hooks ... keeps the smaller pickers from getting caught all the time.

Anybody know where there are
Anybody know where there are some decent sand whiting of the beach NOR. Been fishin floreat beach, yanchep and havn't had any luck with catching some descent size whiting. The average of my catch has been around the 15cm mark at the most. Is it just me or is there just a shortage of the bigger size whiting here in W.A. LOL
